SWCRR Construction Hours:
The standard project hours for construction of the Southwest Calgary Ring Road (SWCRR) are Monday to Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In addition, KGL Constructors has extended the project hours for construction on structures and roadways at key project locations. This includes:
- Macleod Trail interchange
- The interchange near Highway 22X and 24 Street
- 90 Avenue near the west boundary of the Transportation Utility Corridor
- Highway 8 crossing the Elbow River
- Glenmore Trail and 37 Street S.W
- Sarcee Trail interchange
- Anderson Road interchange
- 37 Street S.W. crossing Fish Creek
The 24-hour operations at these locations will run seven days a week until December 2019 (weather dependent).
The extended project hours are expected to help prepare for critical upcoming traffic realignments and to maintain the SWCRR completion schedule. Other locations are expected to be added to the 24-hour operations as required to meet the project schedule.
North Gravel Site:
KGL Constructors is expanding the operating times for loading processed gravel from the south end of the North Gravel Site and hauling it along the SWCRR corridor. The typical hours for these operations are expected to run from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. through the remainder of 2019.
Activity at the North Gravel Site during the extended hours will be limited to operations involving loaders, haul trucks and water trucks. Haul trucks will also be travelling on the haul road and along the length of the project corridor. The hours for excavating and crushing operations at the North Gravel Site remain unchanged.
There are other third-party contractors carrying out construction in the Transportation Utility Corridor (TUC) that may work different hours.
